Asylum justice

Campaigns and matters concerning asylum seekers are important to me, and since I was elected I have been involved in numerous local campaigns to support asylum seekers in their individual cases to stay to live in Wales. It is important that we encourage people from other countries to feel safe, and part of the community here in Wales. Regardless of the fact that powers over the asylum system lies with Westminster at the moment, it is important for me as an Assembly Member to support constituents who are asylum seekers.

I have  launched a new cross party group on human rights, alongside my Assembly colleagues Darren Millar AM, Eleanor Burnham AM, Lesley Griffitsh AM where we will be discussing issues surrounding asylum amongst other issues.

If you want more information on this new group then please get in touch. The website for the cross party group is www.cpghr.com should you wish to see the work we are doing.
