Students and young people
As a young Assembly Member, matters surrounding students and young people are very important to me. I am passionate about working to encourage more young people to take an interest in politics, and to feel that they have a voice in our society. Too often young people believe that they are not heard, or that their voices are insignificant, and I am eager to ensure that young people and students are fully represented.
I have campaigned against top-up fees in Wales, for the lowering of the vote to 16 years of age, for the minimum wage to be the same for those under 18 as those who are over that age, and various other campaigns. I am hoping to organise much more of my surgeries in youth clubs and Students Unions across the region, and if you would like me to visit your youth group then just get in touch.
