Transport

Ieuan Wyn Jones AM is the Deputy First Minister, and has the responsibility over transport within his portfolio. He is committed to putting in to practise our One Wales agreement proposals to improving regional and national transport, develop and implement a programme for improved North-South links, including travel by road and rail, and the creation of a new All Wales Traws Cambria transport network integrating long distance rail and coach routes with electronic cross ticketing by 2011.

We are also committed to establishing a National Transport committee for Wales as well as enhance and link up cycle routes on an all Wales basis. This work is well underway. In the region, I respond to complaints or concerns from constituents regarding public transport, and I am eager to learn of any difficulties that you too encounter.

On the 15th of July 2009, Ieuan Wyn Jones, the Minister for the Economy and Transport announced a new Transport Plan for Wales, which is forward looking and sustainable. You can see information on the plan from the Government here.
